About Jereme Wilroy

Life can change in an instant.

After experiencing a spinal cord injury, I had to learn how to rebuild life in ways I never expected. The physical recovery was only one part of the journey. The deeper challenge was learning how to move forward emotionally, mentally, and spiritually after everything had changed.

Over time, I realized that recovery is not simply about returning to what life was before. It is about learning how to move forward with clarity, resilience, and purpose.

That realization eventually led to the work I do today.

Why I Created This Site

Many people facing a traumatic injury, life-altering diagnosis, or major health challenge feel lost in the early stages.

You may be asking:

  • What does my future look like now?
  • How do I move forward when everything feels uncertain?
  • Is it possible to rebuild a meaningful life again?

This site exists to help answer those questions.

Through writing, research, and practical tools, I share ideas that help people regain direction and begin rebuilding life after major disruption.

The ACTIONS Framework

One of the tools I share is the ACTIONS Framework.

This framework provides a simple roadmap for navigating life after injury or major life change.

The ACTIONS steps help people:

  • acknowledge the reality of what has happened
  • choose intentional next steps
  • rebuild habits and identity
  • focus on health and recovery
  • navigate the future with renewed purpose

My Work

Professionally, I am a researcher and professor studying health behavior and recovery after disability.

My work focuses on helping people with mobility limitations improve health, physical activity, and long-term well-being.

But this site is not about research papers or academic language.

It’s about translating lessons from both science and lived experience into practical insights that help people move forward.

My Life

I live in Alabama with my wife Bethany and our five children.

Being a husband and father is the most important role in my life, and it shapes the way I think about resilience, faith, and purpose.

Much of what I write about here grows out of the lessons I’ve learned through family, faith, and the process of rebuilding life after injury.
